Djay (Terrence Howard Terrence Dashon Howard) is a pimp who picks up customers in the car with prostitute Nora (Tarn Manning Taryn Manning) every day. He is extremely bored and deeply feels the midlife crisis. In a black market deal, Di Jie bought a cartoon electronic piano, evoking his memories of the choir. He learns that hip-hop superstar Kenny Blake (Ludacles Ludacris) will hold a concert on July 4th. He hopes to record his own demo demo and send it to the hip-hop mogul. So Djay begins to reorganize the band, finding former choir friend Kay (Anthony Anderson Anthony Anderson), white pianist Blair, pregnant woman Sago (Taraji P. Hansen Taraji P. Henson) and others to help him realize his dream step by step. He turned his experience of low-level life into lyrics, conquered the media and music fans with passionate interpretation, but just as he was about to become popular, he was jailed for an inexplicable lawsuit.
