The story takes place in England in 1552, where the coming alternation of power makes the princes and nobles look like archenemies. Under the secret manipulation of the Regent Prince John Daley (John Wood John Wood), the original heir, Catholic Princess Mary (Jane Lapotaire) is excluded, and Jane (Helena Bonham Carter Helena Bonham Carter) becomes the heir to the throne. After that, Duke John lets his son Guilford (Gary Elvis Cary Elwes) marry Jane, so the real power falls into his hands. Jane and Guildford were sent to the country to wait for the coronation ceremony, and the two, who had never met before, slowly developed a sincere relationship between them. After the death of Edward VI (Warren Saire), 16-year-old Jane is in power. Some of her actions annoy the minister and are deposed after just nine days on the throne. At the same time, Princess Mary, who fled the country, leads the army to return to England and take back what belongs to her.
