The film tells the story of 19-year-old David (Hoffman) dreaming of becoming a pianist on the world's top stage. In his hometown, his talent is very outstanding. But as a conservatory student, he soon realized that he was just one of the geniuses. His classmate Walter (Nussbaum) is his biggest competitor, and this competition also spreads to the relationship.
