The film is adapted from real events. In February 1999, an old woman died after being robbed at a supermarket in Shenliyi, Wanzhou County, Quanluobei Road. At that time, three prisoners of the 10th generation were sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment and served, but then the prisoners planned to confess and launched a retrial request, so the three were found not guilty 17 years later.
