Un maledetto inbroglio, also known as the fact of murder, is a 1959 Italian crime film suspense directed by Pietro Germi and starring Claudia Claudia Cardinale. The film is adapted from Carlo Emilio Carlo Emilio Gadda's novel Quer pasticciaccio brutto de created through Merulana. The film was resumed and redistributed in Italy and the United States in 1999. A gangster in disguise stole valuable jewels from Lord Anzaloni's apartment and escaped, leaving Anzaloni unharmed. Inspector Ingravallo investigated and found that the robbery was suspicious because the robbers were able to find valuables too quickly. Neighbor Liliana Banducci (Liliana Banducci) hired a maid, Assuntina. Her fiance, Diomede, tried to escape when he saw the police chasing Assuntina. But Diomede has an alibi. Dr. Valdarena, a cousin of Liliana, visited her and found the body on the floor. But before calling the police, Valdarena took an envelope from the sideboard and sent it to him. Liliana's husband, Remo, was not in Rome at the time of the murder, but to his surprise, Liliana changed her will only a week ago.
