The tragic story of Trent, the owner of the antique shop, and his beautiful and kind granddaughter, little Nell. Trent tried to make a fortune for his 14-year-old granddaughter to live a happy life behind him, only to fall into the hands of Daniel Quilp, a nouveau riche loan shark. Quilp, an insatiable vampire, used usury to take away not only all the property of the old antique shop, but also the beautiful little Nell. Their grandparents and grandchildren were forced to flee London and live a life of begging and vagrancy. Finally, Little Nell, who was physically and mentally injured, died of mental fatigue.
