Isabel (Gene Tierney Gene Tierney) is deeply in love with pilot labor (Tyrone Bauer Tyrone Power). However, the labor who has just experienced the ravages of war is not in the mood to fall in love. He chooses to go to Paris to find the meaning of life there. A year later, Isabel went to look for labor, but because she couldn't stand the poor life there, she chose to marry the rich Childe Gray (played by John Penn John Payne). Several years later, Gray went bankrupt because of various accidents, and Isabel and her partner Sophie (Anne Baxter Anne Baxter) returned to Paris again. Forced by life, Sophie became a prostitute, the labor could not bear to see this, decided to save Sophie, who knew that his actions caused Isabel's jealousy, under Isabel's design, Sophie slid into the abyss again.
