Based on the life story of the famous American baseball player Monty Tratton, Monty, who was born as a poor peasant, was discovered his pitching potential. After several twists and turns, he joined professional baseball, became a leading pitcher, and married a beautiful girl. He thought that he had no regrets in a happy life, but he broke his thigh while hunting. Monty thought his sports career was over, but with his wife's encouragement and personal perseverance, he stood up again and returned to the team as a pitcher in a professional baseball exhibition game. James Stewart's portrayal of a frank and endurance hero is quite popular. Joan Allison, who plays his wife, also properly plays the feeling of a good wife, and director Sam Wood is skilful and inspirational in addition to seeing a wonderful baseball game.
