The film is a naughty work in which Alfred Hitchcock deliberately experimented with shots, many of which are more than a few minutes long. One of the long shots, which moves from outdoor to indoor and shuttles back and forth between more than a dozen actors for more than ten minutes, is extremely prominent and fascinating. Bergman's crazy performance was also wonderful. Australia was a territory of British exiled prisoners in 1830. An English young man (Michael Whiting) went to Australia with his uncle and had an entangled relationship with a couple with a special background.
