David Wells can be said to be living a happy life. He, who used to live a poor life, now has a job as a bank clerk and is engaged to a beautiful woman who loves him. They live in a beautiful house and have many successful and loving friends, but one of them may be too compassionate. David's friend Jack doesn't like his middle-class life, and the idea comes from a man who pretends to be a coroner to snatch valuables from a coroner.
