At the junction of the suburbs of Yudu Palace City, rural youth and Tian Manfu (Yonghe Minxing) and their families live here. With the advance of urbanization, people living in rural areas are full of longing for the prosperity of the city, and have long abandoned the old simplicity. Manfu's father (Yoshimoto Keifeng) runs away from home and hangs out with a drinking girl for a long time, while his elder brother Tetsuo (Morimoto Takeshi) goes to Tokyo to live a fashionable white-collar life. Manfu, on the other hand, sticks to the native land and cultivates the land on which he has lived for generations. On weekdays, he makes a living by growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, but the days are dull and rich. The so-called children are the concern of their parents, and the old mother begins to arrange the marriage for her old son. Ayako Hanako (Takashi Ishida), who works at the gas station, thus comes into the sight of Manfu. Soon after, my father returned to his family to help his old friend run for election. Manchu and Ayako, friends and wine girls were also entangled constantly, and their mundane life suddenly made waves. This film is based on Lisong Heping's novel of the same name and won the second place in the top ten films of 1981.
