The book revolves around elderly music producer Alan James (Repton Rip Torn) and Russian girl Laura (Tina Ghosn Dina Korzun), 30 years his junior, about a gloomy and twisted love affair between them. Laura married her husband Allen, twice her age, in order to immigrate to the United States. they respected each other and had no feelings to speak of. This made Laura more and more dull and even lost her enthusiasm for life. Until Allen's estranged son Michael James (Darren Bross Darren Burrows) unintentionally visited, suddenly let Laura regain the feeling of passionate love. With the growing relationship between Laura and Michael, Laura feels more and more guilty. She felt sorry for Alan and betrayed the man who had brought her a new life that she had never thought of before. In the face of such a twisted and strange triangular relationship, where on earth should Laura go? This film won the best feature film at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, and the heroine Tina Ghosn was nominated for the 2006 Independent Spirit Award-Best Actress.
