The story takes place during the Mexican revolution at the beginning of the twentieth century. In a long-distance carriage, noble ladies and gentlemen talk to a silent farmer, but suddenly the farmer changes, revealing the true face of the family gang leader Juan (Rod Steiger). After the robbery, Juan encounters the Irish Revolutionary Army blasting expert John (James Coburn), whose explosive ability makes the robbery of the Mesa Vader bank like a bag, so Juan trails painstakingly, inadvertently involved in the Mesa Vader uprising. Juan was willing to partner with John to rob the bank, but all he got was to liberate 150 political prisoners. Colonel Gunter led the army to suppress the revolution, and Juan and the revolutionary team paid a heavy price. In the face of adversity, John and Juan developed a real revolutionary friendship, and they turned back to block Colonel Gunter on their way to the United States. when John was shot, the old soldier saw the warm scene of the past in Ireland. The film won the best director award at the Italian David Award in 1972.
