The story takes place in Hollywood, Los Angeles, where a series of rapper killings create panic among local residents. For this reason, the LAPD sent experienced detective Joe (Harrison Ford Harrison Ford) to investigate the matter, and in order to improve efficiency, they also matched Joe with a fledgling and energetic partner, Carlton (Josh Hartnett Josh Hartnett). What Joe and Carlton did not expect was that the serial homicide seemed simple, but they encountered a lot of resistance on the road of forensic investigation. As the investigation deepens, a music agent named Zeldan (Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington) comes into view of Joe and Carlton, who has plenty of motive to kill contract-breaking artists who could ruin his fortune. However, at the end of the investigation, the two detectives found that the resistance they had encountered did not come from the killer, but from within the police station.
