This film is based on a true story. Mortimer, a young doctor with the idea of saving lives (Hugh Dansi Hugh Dancy), was fired several times because he was at odds with the business philosophy of many hospitals. In the process of looking for a job, I found Dr. Darlingshal's clinic. This is a place that specializes in serving women and treating diseases called "hysteria". Mortimer learned finger massage here and met the doctor's two daughters with very different personalities. Sister Charlotte (Maggie Gyllenhaal Maggie Gyllenhaal) is a feminist who runs a workhouse, while sister Emily (Felicity Jones Felicity Jones) is a lady. The business of the hospital is getting better and better, but Mortimer's hands can't stand it. Mortimer failed to satisfy a customer because of a hand spasm, so he was kicked out by the doctor. Back at the home of his friend Edmund (Rupert Everett Rupert Everett), Mortimer came up with a wonderful idea when he saw his invention of the electric feather duster. And this idea brings gospel and joy to women.
