In 1945, when the atmosphere was extremely dignified, American society, which had just experienced the war, was in an abnormal state. Jews, like blacks, were discriminated against and could not even enter the swimming pool. The kind-hearted eldest son Adrian (Adrian Brody) falls in love with a flirtatious woman; the rebellious second son is obsessed with a black girl and likes black rock and jazz. The strip theater run by father Joe was deserted and was later sentenced to years in prison for illegal trading, in which the Kuzmans struggled to live.
