Since her student days, the ugly Murrell (Toni Klaette Toni Collette) has been asserted by her peers that it is impossible to enter the hall of marriage, but even so, Murrell, who is gradually stepping into society, is still full of desire for marriage. By chance, Murray and his former alumnus Rhonda (Rachel Griffith Rachel Griffiths) are reunited, and the two hit it off and go to Sydney to live a "cohabitation" life. Muriel meets a man named Bryce (Matt Day), an athlete who dreams of representing his country in the Olympic Games. Finally, Muriel and Bryce entered the marriage hand in hand, but with the passage of time, Murray realized that Bryce had no love for him but to take advantage of it. A discouraged Muriel returned to Rhonda, who was already suffering from cancer and time was running out.
