Betty (Renee Zellweger Ren é e Zellweger) is an ordinary waitress with an obnoxious husband Dale (Alan Eckhart Aaron Eckhart). When life is not going well, she can only devote herself to the soap opera on TV, where the perfect Dr. David Ravel (Greg Kinnear Greg Kinnear) is always waiting for her with his sexy smile. Betty immediately realized that her new life had begun when Dale was killed in a dangerous drug deal. Without her husband's shackles, Betty decided to drive to Los Angeles to find Dr. David Ravel. Fortunately, Betty was chosen by the producer to play the role of a new doctor's assistant. Betty, who was still immersed in joy, would not know that the drug dealers had targeted her.
