This is a movie about growth. Famous writer Gordy (Richard Dreyfuss) recalled an adventure when he was 12 years old: At that time, young Gordy (Wil Wheaton) and his three friends Chris (River Phoenix), Teddy (Corey Feldman) and Wayne went to the forest on the other side of the river to find the body of a 12-year-old boy in order to be "heroes".
