Taking Woodstock

Taking Woodstock 6.7

In the United States in the late 1960s, with the cruelty and remoteness of the war and even the seemingly unbelievable feat of landing on the moon, young people were looking for an echo between themselves and the world. In a small town near White Lake, New York, Jewish youth Eliot (Demetri Martin) gives up his job as a New York designer to help with the motel business in order to take care of his stingy mother, and in order to improve his struggling business, Elliott takes advantage of his local chamber of commerce president to organize a routine music festival. At the same time, the first Woodstock Music Festival came to a standstill due to opposition from the local government, and Eliot seized the opportunity to invite the organizers to relocate to their hometown. Local residents were worried about the harm that might be caused by hippie audiences. Elliott's declaration of giving up collecting tickets at the press conference even brought music lovers everywhere, with an audience of hundreds of thousands of people. Let the host place become an independent republic in a carnival. With the music festival going on, the problems of the Elliott family have also been alleviated. This film is based on Elliot Tiber's memoirs.
