This film is based on the biography "Georgiana, Duchess of Devon" by British writer Amanda Forman. At the end of the 18th century, the young and beautiful Georgiana Cavendish (Keira Knightley) married at her mother's orders to the fifth Duke of Devon (Ralph Fiennes), who was nine years her senior. Georgiana's intelligence and sensitivity to fashion made her a dazzling center for London's aristocracy, but she was unable to touch the hearts of her unfaithful husband. The Duke of Devonshire is dissatisfied that Georgiana has not brought her son and has an open affair with her best friend, Lady Elizabeth (Harley Atwell).
