The Red Shoes

The Red Shoes 8.1

Peggy (Moira Shearer Moira Shearer) is a very talented ballet dancer whose love of ballet makes her feel that she was born to dance. She took part in the ballet "Hong Lingyan", in which she played the dancer who danced to death in red shoes. Her performance was well received by the industry, and her acting career soared. After that, she meets the composer Julian (Marius Golin Marius Goring) and quickly falls in love. Peggy gave up her career for the one she loved, but the quiet life after marriage was unbearable, and there always seemed to be a magic calling her to put on her dancing shoes and dance. Peggy listened to her heart's call, she left Julian and returned to the stage, but gradually, she thought of the dancer in red shoes she had played. She felt that their figures were slowly overlapping. Uneasy Peggy suddenly realized that the most important thing in her life was not dancing but her family. She rushed out of the theater to regain Julian's love, but a train fell from the sky and ended her young life. The film won an Oscar for best match in 1949.
