A Hollywood studio remade the 1970s Japanese film masterpiece "the Yellow handkerchief of Happiness". Japanese film master Yoji Yamada said at a news conference on the 12th that he was "deeply moved" by Hollywood's remake of the film directed by him in 1977. He hopes that the American version of the Yellow handkerchief will convey the film's message. Yamada Yoji said that the American version of the Yellow handkerchief will be directed by Yodayan Prasad and produced by Arthur Cohen. The new film will begin filming in Louisiana in March and is expected to be released in Japan in the spring of 2009. The Happy Yellow handkerchief, adapted from the work of American novelist Peter Jamil, tells the story of a newly released prisoner and his wife who has been waiting for him in Hokkaido. Japanese actor Takakura Ken successfully portrayed the released prisoner in the film, which was a hit in places such as Japan and China.
