The film combines the tragedy of a Polish village during World War II with a wedding 100 years later. Lessek, a dark and greedy senior trader, was still dealing with corruption-related matters before his daughter's wedding and arranged important business meetings, leaving no time for the wedding. However, his daughter wanted nothing but to escape from her discouraging homeland. The wedding was like a carnival of vodka and disco, but the combination made the elderly bishop Anthony Wilke uneasy. He witnessed a wedding in the village during World War II and met an unexpected love. This film is also a bitter gaze at xenophobic groups who forget their own history.
