David Tennant ("Doctor who" and "good omen") will star in a new series called "Eighty days around the World". Re-adapted Jules Verne's famous novel, Tennant as the wise and kind English gentleman Phileas Fogg. Because of a bold bet, Fogg embarked on an 80-day journey around the world, including a Chinese part. The novel has been adapted for many times, such as the 2004 film starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan. The new show also features young French actor Ibrahim Koma as Fogg's servant know-it-all, and Lionel Benich (the Crown, the opposite Universe and Babylon Berlin) as Abigail Fix, the journalist who covered the story. Ashley Pharoah (Life on Mars) is the screenwriter, Steve Barron (the Dreyers) is the main director, and Slim Film + Television and Federation are the production companies. Shooting will begin in February next year and will be filmed in South Africa and Romania and is expected to be released by the end of next year.
