During the Korean War, young Yin Dexiu boarded the US military rescue ship with his parents, but encountered a lifetime of unforgettable parting. Although the war ceased, the north and south peninsula split in two, and the hometown of the north, which was poisoned by gunfire, was out of reach. After growing up, Dexiu (Huang Zhengmin), who became the pillar in place of his father, worked hard to make money. In order to prepare for his younger brother and sister's tuition, he and his childhood friend Qian Dajiu (Wu Dazu) went to West Germany to become miners. Thousands of miles of home and country, homesickness, lonely Dexiu accidentally met in Germany to study nursing girl Yingzi (Jin Yunzhen decoration), from then on as black as coal life into the brilliant light. The happy time goes hand in hand with the tribulations of death. Fortunately, after going through the test of life and death, Dexiu returned to the home where he longed for so much and won the heart of Yingzi. Along the long and bumpy road of life, Dexiu struggled forward with the company of his wife, relatives and friends.
