Mickey (Robert de Niro Robert De Niro) and Terry (Eddie Murphy Eddie Murphy) are partners with very different personalities. The former is silent, steady and reliable, while the latter is humorous, talkative and limelight. During a mission, Mickey's well-designed action was spoiled by Terry's talkative actions. Mickey's heart was burning with anger and was harassed by the reporters that followed. Unbearably, he escaped from the gun and smashed the camera lens. Mickey's rude behavior caused an uproar in the industry. TV producer Chase (Renee Russell Rene Russo) saw the opportunity and proposed to shoot a daily show about the police department. In order to restore his reputation, the director agreed to Chase's proposal, while Mickey and Terry became guests of the show. For Mickey, this kind of publicity is drudgery, while for Terry, it is a good chance to succeed.
