During the War of Liberation, the Kuomintang reactionaries violated the armistice agreement and launched a large-scale offensive, targeting the Jiefang District. Zhuang Yi (Yu Lan), as the female captain of a field medical team of a certain People's Liberation Army, was ordered to escort the wounded for transfer. The wounded were passionate and demanded to return to the front line to fight the enemy. Zhuang Yi successfully persuaded Commander Zhu (Su Ling) and led his comrades to start the transfer operation. On the way, they were bombed by enemy planes. Zhuang Yi ignored his personal safety and tried his best to treat the wounded. She herself was injured during the process, but she still insisted on performing surgery on the injured and ultimately successfully saved their lives. Zhuang Yi fell down in front of the operating table, winning the admiration and touch of the injured. She not only learns from herself, but also helps the injured solve ideological problems and trains new medical workers. Under the careful care of the comrades in the treatment team, the wounded quickly recovered and re-entered the battle.
