Gutian Qiu screenwriter's murder film, with a heinous plot to describe the protagonist's loss of conscience, seems to make people shudder, but also make people think about the meaning of life. The background of the story begins with the collapse of a mine in 1948. Miner Sakane negotiated compensation with the boss on behalf of the families of 20 deceased, but made a fortune by accepting a large sum of bribes against his conscience. He coveted the son of a miner's widow, killed and buried his wife who knew the situation, and falsely claimed that his wife had eloped and disappeared. He took Zhaozi home, because his son was strongly opposed, and in the name of taking his son to his mother, he tricked his son to the mountain to kill him. When Sakako fell ill and was hospitalized, Sakane had sex with a woman who borrowed money from him and wanted to seize her 18-year-old daughter Hiroko as his wife. After being refused, he set fire to his home. Hosakan was jailed for murder and escaped from prison by digging a tunnel in 1952.
